“PICS & THREADS”

The public is cordially invited to the opening reception of “Pics and Threads,” an exhibit of original needlepoint by Anna Caruso and photographs by Claire Thurman, in Swarthmore Borough Hall Gallery on Friday, August 29, from 5-7 p.m. Music for the reception will be provided by clarinetists Jenna Harowitz and Ben Harowitz. The exhibit runs through September 28.

Anna Caruso began doing needlepoint at the age of ten, inspired by her mother, an accomplished seamstress and needlework artist in Italy and later in the USA. Anna has exhibited at Paoli Hospital Cancer Center Art Gallery.

Claire previously exhibited in Swarthmore Borough Hall in 2005 with her show “Around the Town: Glimpses of Swarthmore.” She has also exhibited at Paoli Hospital Cancer Center. She is a member of Swarthmore Friends of the Arts, the Delaware County Artists’ Guild, and the Greater Norristown Art League.

Swarthmore Borough Hall Gallery hours are 8am-9pm Monday – Thursday, 8am-7pm Friday; in August, 10am-2pm Saturday, closed Sunday; and in September, 10am-5pm Saturday, 1pm-5pm Sunday.

This exhibit is sponsored by Friends of the Arts, whose mission is to encourage the expression of all forms of art by local artists and to provide a venue for artistic dialogue.
