FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CLAIRE THURMAN 610 544-9744 The public is cordially invited to the opening of “Painting the Landscape in Pastel and Fiber,” works by Swarthmore artist, Carol Woolford, March 5, from 6:00 – 8:00pm, in Swarthmore Borough Hall Gallery. Carol previously exhibited in Swarthmore Borough Hall in 2007. Carol’s subject matter includes landscapes, seascapes and gardens. The show runs from February 24 through March 28. Carol is a juried member of the Pastel Society of America, and a board member of Philadephia Guild of Handweavers. Carol has a Bachelor of Arts in interior design from Washington State University (1978) and studied contemporary embroidery with Renie Breskin Adams through a scholarship presented by the Handweavers Guild of America and Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina (2002). Carol has also exhibited at the Community Art Center, Wallingford, PA (2004, 2010); Mainline Art Center, Haverford, PA (2009); Jane Porter Studios in Hamilton, NY (2009); Station Gallery, Greenville, DE 2009); the Richeson School of Art and Gallery, Kimberly, WI (2008); Twenty Two Gallery, Philadelphia, PA (2008); the National Arts Club, New York, NY, where she received the Southeastern Pastel Society Award (2006); Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts, Wilmington, DE (2004); White Birch Gallery, Media, PA (2004); Handweavers Guild of America Exhibits in Denver, CO; Vancouver, BC; Portland, OR(2001-2004) and Philadelphia, PA (2002). Swarthmore Borough Hall Gallery Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8AM to 9PM; Friday, 8AM to 7PM; and Saturday, 9AM to 5PM.
